When trying to lose fat there is one thing that ruins everyone’s results, yet nobody ever talks about it.
CONSISTENCY. Or lack of consistency.
See, here’s the thing amigo.
You can have the best training facility, the best programming and the best diet plan in the world
But that doesn’t mean shit if you don’t stick to it.
You get me?
For example.
It’s common to see someone “beasting the gym” one week and working out 6 days in a row but then the next week they don’t go once.
This lack of consistency makes it very difficult to make any sort of progress.
The same thing happens with diet. One week you’ll eat clean every single meal, getting all the meal prep done. Not a single “treat” in sight. But the next week? Massive food binge, Macdonalds everyday.
Essentially any work that you put in on week 1 gets undone and then some on week 2.
So you’re two weeks in but you’ve not progressed, in fact you’ve probably moved backwards.
So how do you fix this?
Be consistent!
Easier said than done right?
Well I’m going to lay it out for you
Aim for good enough, not perfection. – I know this seems crazy! Why wouldn’t you aim for perfection? The fact of it is that ‘good enough’ is a lot more manageable. If you’re aiming for perfection right from the start then you’re setting yourself up for failure.
Good enough would still be training hard and eating well but instead of going for 6 workouts a week, aim for 2 or 3 workouts a week BUT every single week.
Instead of eating 100% clean, aim for 90%, allow yourself some ‘treats’ and food outside of your diet. I promise it’s not going to hinder your progress. Again make sure you’re at 90% clean foods every, single week.
Set goals. Setting SMART goals and targets help you stay consistent. (eg. Workout 3 times a week, every week for the next 6 months.)
Get support and accountability. We’re helping people stay on track, be consistent and get results with our new Team Training programme.
With scheduled sessions as part of a group and nutrition targets you’ve got plenty of support from other members and coaches. You’ve got someone to answer to and someone pushing you forwards.
